Sadie is two months old...wait, no three months old!!!!

Ok, sorry Sadie, I didn't post your two month pictures and you are already three and a half months old!!!! Here are Sadie's monthly photos, and while I'm at it, I might as well put a couple one month photos in here again for comparison purposes. :)

Love my little girly!! :)

Oh my goodness, does the pouty lip get any better than this?! :)

Good times, bad times

We've had quite an interesting month in regards to health. I guess when it rains, it pours :) Thankfully, nothing is extremely serious, but we would rather have nothing!

Scott:
Scott was just diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythaemia (ET) and to be honest, we were thrilled with this diagnosis. The doctor discovered that he had abnormally high platelets and they have been testing his blood (and ultimately his bone marrow) to determine why. After his blood test came back negative for everything but high platelets, they decided they needed to take bone marrow for an answer. We just found out today that is it ET, and since the alternative were much worse, we were thankful for this diagnosis. They are still waiting on one more test and if that comes back negative, the only change to his daily life will be to add a baby aspirin a day and annual blood check-ups. He is at a little higher risk for other things with this disease, so we'll be sure to watch him closely.
Scott is now battling a nasty cold--well, cold symptoms, but seems to be more than that as he is just feeling quite crappy.

Betty:
I spilled boiling tea water on my foot, which had a sock on it. The sock helped to keep the water close to my skin for just a little bit longer, scalding the first layer of skin right off and giving me a second degree burn. Man. That. Hurt. I wasn't sure how I was going to sleep that night, but thankfully, I did. It took a week and a day for it to slightly scab over so it was no longer an open wound, and two weeks for it to look like crisp Thanksgiving day turkey skin. It is doing great now, but I'm hoping for minimal scarring :)

Blake:
Blake had a bad cold with a cough that kept him for sleeping well. He was whiny and uncomfortable. Thankfully, he is feeling better now, although he just fell out of his crib for the first time today. I guess it is time to take out the toddler bed!! Good-bye confinement (frown face for Mommy & Daddy). :)

Sadie:
Sadie was the first victim to Blake's cold (Scott was the second) and got it through the toddler's willingness to share everything but his toys and sweets :)
Sadie had not been sleeping as well either since she was coughing, congested, and miserable. Thus, not much sleep for Mommy as she was getting up frequently. Sadie is now feeling much better, but decided she liked the company in the night, and has adjusted her schedule to spend more time with her Mommy. We are working on breaking that!
Sadie is also going to be having some appointments regarding the hemangioma on her eyelid. We will meet with her pediatric doctor to discuss an oral medication and the side-effects and we'll meet with a surgeon to discuss the pros and cons of surgery. We are still hoping the topical medication will start working, but it was a long shot, according to the doctor. Her's is a little too deep. Also, Sadie got a hair wrapped extremely tightly around her pinkie toe that we had to go to urgent care to get it removed. See the story in my update to this post at "Part II"

And for the good times...:)

Sadie and I went for a day to visit some of my college roommates in Rochester, MN. Both my roommates, Karin & Jenny, had girls. Karin has 2 and Jenny has 3. Since I only had my girl with me, we had to get a girls photo. :)  Love spending time with these friends!!

The girls!!!
Since it was then a mere 1.5 hours extra to go to Mankato, MN, my parent's met Sadie and I there for breakfast. We got a couple photos that were keepers:

I see a smile there!!

SELFIE!!! Ok,  maybe not, but it sure looks like it!! :)

She looks thrilled to be with Grandma as well...I think...:)

Just...a....little....closer....and then I can suck on my shirt.

See? I told you she was thrilled :)

Grandpa Miles came to watch Blake and Sadie so I could accompany Scott to get his bone marrow biopsy, which he wasn't excited about considering they stuck a needle in his hip to extract the bone marrow. Thank goodness for anesthesia!!
There he goes!!!!!!!!!!

Photo updates

This entry is an attempt to get some of my fun photos into my blog in a quick way. Throw a bunch of photos in with minimal explanation :)

Blake's tower of blocks. He did this without any help!!!

Look how tall it is!?! What is he doing, you ask? Well, when the tower gets really tall, it gets wobbly as well, so at one point I had told him to blow on it to topple it. Apparently, he didn't forget this. :)

Random super cute photo of Sadie before church one morning. My photo shoot of her in her adorable outfit may or may not have made us late that morning...

I mean seriously, how could I resist?

Ooops, Blake isn't dressed yet. Get upstairs Blake, we gotta go!!!! :)
The above pictures were taken on a Sunday that Scott was out of town, so I had to get the kids ready myself. I was feeling ahead of the game, which is why I took the time for photos. I was feeling really good about myself and then a poopy diaper happened. Ok, small setback just before we were to walk out the door. I then opened the door to find a lot of snow! Whoops, didn't know it was supposed to snow and obviously hadn't noticed it yet this morning. Ok, back inside for boots for Blake and I. After the boots, I had to brush off the buried car and finally made it out the driveway a couple minutes before service started. Well, good thing I started on time, otherwise I would have been really late!!

I ordered some movies from Disney and found that they had a clearance Lone Ranger hat on their website...I couldn't resist...

Hi-yo Silver!

You new around these parts?

Let's ride, Teddy!
Unfortunately, Blake has discovered he can open the refrigerator. Yes, I know, I'm surprised myself at how long it took him. Maybe our fridge is hard to open...he does have to lean into it to get it open. One morning, I walked into the kitchen, and was surprised to see the door open.

 Then I looked closer...

...and closer...

What!?! Blake, what are you doing in the fridge??
Oh my goodness. :)

Lastly, I have really started to try and crack down on Blake cleaning up his own messes. This definitely doesn't happen all the time, but I'm trying (with some nudges from Scott). :)

So, Blake loves to dump out any water or milk he has in a cup, which is why he still uses a sippy cup even though he can drink out of a cup just fine. Well, one morning he dumped it out again, so I made him clean it up and can I just say, I love these photos, even though I look like a slave driver?

Oh wait, gotta take one more drink before I keep working...

Working hard...

Almost done (notice the lifted leg trying not to knock over the cup). :)

Blake and Teddy helping in the kitchen.

Kind of hard to tell in this photo, but Blake always tries to stick both legs into one leg of his pants/pj's when getting a diaper change, so one day I just picked him up and plopped him on the floor with both legs in one. He thought it was hilarious, but he couldn't stand without some assistance :)

Selfies...

...of Blake, not me :) Blake's fascination of the camera has not ended and he's discovered how to take photos of himself now. Gotta admit, these are kind of cute :)

Smiling and trying to figure this thing out.

Concentrating?

Are we brushing his teeth ok? We are getting less and less of his face...

Hmm, face is a bit dirty...or dry. :) But, very clear photo. Well done, Blake.

Ah, there we are. Back to having an eye in the photo

Bam. And he nailed it. :)
Blake also took a picture of me and Sadie!!

Future photographer???

Not bad, not bad.

Is this really how I look when I am reading cookbooks? :)

Sadie Laughs

I really should be cleaning my house right now, since it is a disaster, but I just have to document Sadie's first real laugh. She has definitely smiled before and maybe a slight chuckle, but she was just laughing away today and I ran to get my camera. Thankfully, she wasn't done :) Here's the video--it took her a minute to start up again (and unfortunately, she found my deep voice as being funny, so that is what you hear). Not a lot of intelligent conversation going on in this video, but hey, she's laughing :)

I love this picture of her.
Smiling!

My two loves :)

Blake eating, but at least he is letting me take his picture!

What you lookin' at?

Trying to get a picture with me and Blake

Another--Blake is squished, Sadie is falling over. Oh well. :)

My and my girlie :) She is developing the unfortunate habit of sucking on her lower lip. I hope she doesn't get too chapped. I pull it out whenever I can, but dang, isn't it cute?!?
Do I look different in these photos? Well, I am not wearing my glasses. Blake broke my current glasses, my former glasses, and now I am wearing the glasses from my college days, which was around 2001-2004. I just found them, but before that I had to wear my contacts. I thought I was doing well with them, but then my eyes started getting a little dry, so I'm back to my old prescription. Thankfully, my prescription rarely changes, so I'm not even noticing the difference in prescription. Stay tuned for another new look, as I need to go order a new pair. Thanks Blake, for keeping me in the latest fashions ;)
