Graduation & Mother's Day

Blake and I decided to surprise my Mom for her graduation from nursing school as well as for Mother's day. Dad and Gary helped with the surprise and it worked out to be perfect. Blake and I flew into Sioux Falls, Dad picked us up, we visited Omi, and Gary picked us up from Omi's and brought us to the graduation in his spiffy pick-up. We had a bright green sign that we planned to hold and meet her outside before the ceremony, but that didn't work out b/c she had to be in early for pictures. We tried to sit on the side we thought the graduates would walk in on, but we chose the wrong side. That sign came in handy because since we weren't on the right side of the procession, the sign is the only way she found us in the crowd! We surprised her while she was walking in--it was quite fun. Then Dad & Mom treated everyone to dinner afterward!

We were also able to visit Kyle, Sarah, and the kids! Kyle and Sarah had just gotten back from Russia, so we were able to hear about their trip. Also, the girls had a dance recital, so we watched them in their first production. Blake loved it!

First time was the best shot of the girls--we tried many other shots, but they just refused to look at the camera at the same time!

Then, for Mother's day, we visited great-Grandpa and Grandma and uncle Gary. What a busy, but fun weekend!!

Grocery trip

Wow, Blake was cooperating quite well for these photos. Always love the smiley ones :)

We went grocery shopping today and it was the first time that he's sat in the shopping cart while grocery shopping--it was nice b/c I didn't have to pile the groceries around his car seat, which was seated in the cart taking up most of my space! Sometimes he'd have lettuce or bread on his lap b/c all the other space was taken :) I need to start taking my camera with me on my trips so I get pictures of this stuff!

Reminds me of when we had our Japenese student stay with us and he was amazed at how much food everyone bought at each trip to the grocery store. Yes, we have preservatives in pretty much everything, so we don't need to go often! Sad, but true. He was also amazed at the size of the grocery stores...I'm thinking we are the only country that has mega grocery stores....

There are a couple videos at the end of this post. Sorry, they are a little dark. I tried a second time by putting on the lights, even though it was middle of the day, but it didn't help much. I should start using my camcorder instead of my camera video, that might help...;) Plus, I should start getting my money's worth!

A congratulations is in order for my Mom who graduates from college on Friday--way to go Mom!! We're proud of you!!!
